Victoria Daly Regional Council is seeking a motivated and organised Recruitment Officer to join our Corporate Services team in Katherine for a 1 year fixed-term contract. In this role, you will play a key part in attracting, recruiting, and onboarding talented individuals who help deliver essential services across our diverse and culturally rich communities.

What your day will look like, but are not limited to: 

  • Coordinating recruitment activities for non-executive positions.
  • Preparing position descriptions, job advertisements, interview questions, and selection documentation.
  • Managing candidate communications, interview scheduling, and referee checks.
  • Delivering culturally respectful candidate care throughout the recruitment process.
  • Coordinating onboarding activities, pre-employment checks, and induction schedules.
  • Maintaining accurate recruitment records and reporting.

The Ideal Candidate Profile

We're looking for a passionate and people-focused professional who thrives on building relationships and creating positive experiences for both candidates and hiring managers. You are highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and professionalism.

You will bring:

  • Strong organisational and coordination skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to build effective relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Sound computer and administrative skills.
  • An understanding of, or willingness to learn, culturally informed recruitment practice

Other Requirements 

  • Criminal History Check (recent, within 3 months).
  • A current Working with Children’s Card (Ochre Card).
  • A current unrestricted Drivers Licence.
