The Opportunity Awaits

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Cleaner to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across Council facilities. This role plays an important part in ensuring Council offices, accommodation facilities, and community spaces are presented to a high standard for staff, visitors, and community members.
This position sits within the Council Operations team and reports directly to the Council Operations Manager.

What your day will look like, but are not limited to: 

  • Cleaning Council offices, meeting rooms, kitchens, break areas, and common spaces.
  • Safely using cleaning chemicals and equipment in accordance with WHS requirements.
  • Monitoring cleaning supplies and advising when stock replenishment is required.
  • Reporting maintenance issues, hazards, or safety concerns to the Council Operations Manager.

The Ideal Candidate Profile

You are a dependable and self-motivated individual who takes pride in delivering high standards of cleanliness and presentation. You have strong attention to detail, can work effectively with minimal supervision, and understand the importance of maintaining safe and hygienic environments. You are organised, physically capable of performing cleaning duties, and contribute positively to a team environment.
You will bring: 
  • Knowledge of safe cleaning practices and chemical handling procedures.
  • An understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
  • The ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • A positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Other Requirements 

  • Criminal History Check (recent within 3 months)
  • Working With Children Clearance (Ochre Card)
  • Current Driver Licence
  • Ability to travel to remote Council facilities as required
  • Willingness to wear PPE and follow all WHS requirements
