How you’ll make a difference

You’ll help keep council spaces and services safe, clean, and well maintained for the community. From parks and public areas to waste and civil services, your work will support essential operations and improve the liveability of the communities you serve.

Day-to-day duties will include, but are not limited to:

  1. Perform grounds maintenance in Community and minor road works.
  2. Assist in minor civil works and deliver waste management services.
  3. Whipper snipping and mowing operations. 
  4. Disposal of debris and litter from recreation areas and within townships and communities. 
  5. Assist with the waste collection, disposal and the ongoing maintenance and minor works at the community landfill site as per Council Standards.
  6. Maintain all equipment and plant used in a safe, clean and serviceable condition.
  7. Maintain a safe working environment and ensure WHS regulations are adhered to.

The Ideal Candidate Profile

You’re reliable, enjoy outdoor work, and take pride in maintaining community spaces. You work safely, are a team player, and can also work independently.

You will bring:

  • Experience in parks and gardens maintenance, landscaping, mowing, and general outdoor works.
  • Ability to operate and maintain tools, plant, and equipment safely.
  • Knowledge of work health and safety practices.
  • Good time management and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Clear communication skills and a strong work ethic.

Other Requirements

  1. White Card (or ability to obtain).
  2. First Aid Certificate (or ability to obtain).
  3. Criminal History Check (issued within the last 3 months).
  4. Current Working with Children’s Clearance (Ochre Card).
  5. Valid unrestricted Driver’s Licence.
