Victoria Daly Regional Council is looking for a Part-time Community Night Patrol Officer based in Yarralin, NT. 

How you'll make a difference 

We are looking for a compassionate individual who possess a strong sense of integrity and a positive attitude towards health and well-being. If you have a background in community safety and a knack for building relationships, we want you on our team.

• Demonstrate excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ensure children are at home or in another safe location with a parent or carer at night.
• Remind parents that they have a responsibility to provide a safe, quiet place for 
  children to sleep.
• Maintain client confidentiality.

Day-to-day duties will include, but are not limited to: 

• Assist the team leader in the recording and reporting of incidents and assistance 
  provided.
• Provide consistent and regular community night patrols in the community.
• Work in partnership with schools, health clinics, sobering-up shelters, safe houses and 
  women’s refuges and other services in the community.
• Provide advice, information and/or assistance that may reduce vulnerability to individuals.
• Perform other duties as directed by the Night Patrol Team Leader.

This is a part-time position that offers a competitive hourly rate with other benefits including 7 weeks of annual leave with 17.5% leave loading and a remote area allowance. You will also have access to professional development opportunities to further your career in community safety.

Ideal Candidate profile 

You will bring:

• Strong communication skills.
• Accurate recordkeeping and written communication ability.
• Ability to work in the afternoon and night.

Other requirements:

• Criminal History Check (recent within 3 months).
• A current Working with Children’s Card. 
• A current unrestricted Driver’s Licence.
• A Current First Aid Certificate (Essential or willing to obtain).
