How you’ll make a difference

Victoria Daly Regional Council is looking for a part-time CDP Mentor based in Timber Creek, NT. 

Deliver and facilitate a solution-focused mentoring program within local communities, to overcome barriers
and/or challenges, to work toward improving and increasing retention of staff through scaffolded
learning

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist with CDP Activities and support training for participants.
  • Support and motivate participants to attend identified activities, training and CDP appointments.
  • Assist with ideas for developing simple plans for participant activities.

Education Requirements

  1. Mentoring (desirable)

Experience and Knowledge Requirements

  • Deep understanding of the cultural landscape, cultural practices, barriers and challenges that staff may face in their role.
  • Ability to work impartially, confidentially, with respect and communicate in a positive manner, as a role model.
  • Time management and organisational skills.
  • Ability and confidence to communicate effectively especially in terms of trouble shooting and problem solving.
  • Ability to build good relationships for positive outcomes.
  • Administration experience and the ability to use Microsoft Office suite to assist you with your tasks.

Other Requirements

    1. Criminal History Check (issued within the last 3 months)
    2. Current Working with Children’s Clearance (Ochre Card)
    3. A valid driver’s licence
