Position Overview
The ICT Support Officer plays a crucial role in supporting the ICT Service Delivery Manager in maintaining the Council's ICT asset management register and ensuring all ICT devices and operating systems function effectively. This position is essential for minimising interruptions to ICT business operations and ensuring staff have the tools they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist the ICT Manager in liaising with department heads for successful system implementations.
- Provide staff with necessary assistance, logins, security levels, and access to Council IT systems.
- Maintain and update the IT asset management register to ensure accurate records of ICT devices and equipment.
- Ensure proper disposal of assets and report their condition as necessary.
- Oversee maintenance of Council printers, troubleshoot issues, and manage toner orders.
- Support network infrastructure management through Meraki Administration, including troubleshooting and firmware updates.
- Assist in troubleshooting WAN and LAN environments to ensure connectivity.
- Monitor and maintain the functionality of Council's surveillance equipment, reporting anomalies as needed.
- Facilitate the procurement process for IT hardware and software, securing approvals from the ICT Service Delivery Manager.
- Liaise with Telstra account representatives to manage SIM services and resolve outages.
- Prepare user manuals and coordinate training sessions for staff.
- Adhere to Council's WHS standards and procedures, ensuring a safe working environment.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in ICT management and demonstrate the ability to work cooperatively across various levels of the organisation. We seek a proactive individual who can work independently and possesses excellent interpersonal skills.
- Qualifications in ICT/networking are essential.
- Proven competency in ICT management and configuration is required.
- Strong communication skills and a cooperative work ethic.
- Ability to work with limited supervision and direction.
- Demonstrated integrity and a friendly disposition.
- Experience in a similar role is highly desirable.
- Understanding of WHS and safe work practices.
Additional Information
This position is classified at Level 4 and is a full-time role based in Katherine, NT. The successful candidate will be required to undergo a Criminal History Check, possess a current Driver’s License, and hold a Working with Children’s Card (Ochre Card). Additionally, some travel and overnight stays in remote communities within the Victoria Daly Regional Council area may be required.
