Victoria Daly Regional Council: Connected Leadership. Strong Communities.

Victoria Daly Regional Council delivers essential services across some of the most remote and diverse communities in the Northern Territory.

Working alongside residents, Traditional Owners and regional partners, Council is committed to strengthening communities through reliable services, collaboration and long-term regional growth.

But these roles are about more than administration.

Two Executive Assistant opportunities are available across senior leadership portfolios:

  • CEO
  • Director of Infrastructure & Assets

These are high-trust roles supporting senior leaders responsible for organisational performance, regional service delivery and community outcomes across the Northern Territory.

The people who thrive here are proactive, adaptable and calm under pressure. They anticipate needs early, communicate clearly and create structure across competing priorities.

The Trusted Partners Behind The Scenes

Regional local government is dynamic. Priorities shift, schedules move and stakeholder coordination often requires flexibility, judgement and responsiveness.

These roles help keep executive operations moving with clarity and momentum.

You will be the person ensuring meetings are prepared, communication flows smoothly, priorities stay organised and follow-through happens consistently across a busy executive environment.

This is not traditional administrative support. These are roles for people who take pride in being dependable, highly organised and two steps ahead.

  • Coordinating meetings, minutes and follow-up actions
  • Supporting communication across Council and external stakeholders

You are likely to:

  • Stay calm while managing competing priorities
  • Communicate confidently across diverse stakeholders
  • Anticipate needs before issues arise
  • Maintain discretion and professionalism at all times
  • Work independently while remaining highly collaborative
  • Create structure in fast-moving environments

You will also require:

  • Strong Microsoft Office and digital systems capability
  • A current Driver’s Licence

  • 10 days personal leave
  • Fully remote interstate working arrangements, or relocation assistance for candidates looking to relocate to Katherine
  • Ongoing professional development opportunities
  • Supportive leadership and collaborative teams
  • Regular leadership engagement, team connection and opportunities to travel to Katherine for training and key events

These roles can be based in Katherine for candidates already living locally or those looking to relocate. VDRC is also open to experienced interstate candidates working remotely, with strong communication rhythms and regular engagement built into the way the leadership team operates.

Ready To Be The Person Leaders Rely On?

If you are a proactive and highly organised Executive Assistant looking for a meaningful role where your work directly supports leadership, communities and regional outcomes, this is an opportunity to build a rewarding long-term career while making genuine impact across the Northern Territory.
