We now have an exciting opportunity for a passionate individual to join our head office Council team in Katherine and begin celebrating and promoting our vibrant remote communities.

How you’ll make a difference

As our Community Services Regional Manager, you will report to the Director of Corporate and Community Services and work closely alongside the managers of each community program. 

Your primary responsibility will be to work with these managers to ensure their programs are running on time, within budget, and providing an effective service that supports the community’s needs.

The community services within your jurisdiction includes Aged Care, NDIS, Community Safety, and CDP, and the four managers for these streams will report directly to you. 

While this role is based out of our Katherine head office, you will regularly travel out to more remote communities to support these programs.

This is a new role in our organisation, and you will have the exciting and unique opportunity to help shape the future of our community services.

 Day-to-day duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee managers and provide support to ensure smooth day-to-day operations;
  • Manage the overall budget for these programs;
  • Cover demands across multiple different programs at one time;
  • Collaborate with program managers and the Director to ensure programs meet the community’s needs; and
  • Support these programs when needed, including assisting in their execution.

As the Victoria Daly region has a large Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population, you will need to ensure cultural sensitivity and awareness across all communication.

What you’ll bring to the team

To succeed as our Community Services Regional Manager, you will be passionate about the importance of these services in community. A proactive team player, you will be excited about working collaboratively across a range of programs.

As this is a diverse role with a wide variety of programs, you will have strong time-management skills and the ability to work across multiple competing priorities. Your organisation and attention to detail will set you up for success.

Working in the Victoria Daly region, you will have experience working with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people and a strong cultural understanding of how to create content that is culturally appropriate.

You will have:

  • Experience managing a diverse range of community programs
  • A tertiary qualification in community services or management is preferred
  • Project management experience
  • High-level cultural awareness
