We will provide you with full training in our Aged Care and NDIS programs so that you can effectively support your team.

How you’ll make a difference

As our Community Care Team Leader, you will support eight staff across Aged Care and NDIS services in Yarralin, and report to the Community Care and NDIS Manager.

Our Aged Care and NDIS programs support elderly and people with disabilities in our remote community to get fresh meals, access reliable transportation, have fresh linen, and more support services. The main role our home care and NDIS staff have is to cook and deliver meals.

Your primary responsibility will be to ensure staff are running these programs effectively, and that reporting and paperwork are completed accurately.

 Day-to-day duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate the delivery of Aged and NDIS services in line with the Home Care Package and NDIS guidelines;
  • Develop positive relationships with local staff and community;
  • Ensure paperwork, including time sheets, case reports, rosters, and NDIS shift reporting is completed accurately;
  • Support staff to deliver services to the best of their ability; and
  • Assist in providing services when needed.

As the Victoria Daly region has a large Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander population, you will need to ensure cultural sensitivity and awareness across all communication.

What you’ll bring to the team

To succeed as our Community Care Team Leader, you will have high-level written and verbal communication skills, strong numeracy skills, and an understanding of living and working in remote communities. You will have strong relationship-building skills and be able to work well with different personality types.

Working in Yarralin, you will have experience working with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people.

You will have:

  • A Certificate IV in community services or similar is preferred 
  • Some experience in or understanding of Aged Care and NDIS programs
  • High-level cultural awareness
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills
  • Experience or understanding of remote working

Please note: you will need a valid Driver's License and will need to already hold or obtain before starting, a clear police check, a valid NDIS workers screen, a valid Working with Children's Check, and a First Aid Certificate.
