We now have an exciting opportunity for a Community Development Program (CDP) Activity Supervisor to join our team in Lajamanu, NT. This is a fixed-term contract until 30 June 2023. This role offers you a chance to mentor community members to further develop their skills and abilities, allowing them to thrive.

Join a dedicated team of individuals

Reporting to the CDP Employment Supervisor, your key responsibility will be developing and facilitating training activities and leading job seeker activities.

Core duties:

  • Stakeholder and community engagement;
  • Mentorship and support;
  • Plan development and implementation; and
  • Attend job-related training per individual training plans.

You will also be responsible for training and mentoring participants, helping them develop their skills and abilities through delivering accredited training in collaboration with training providers where possible.

Your chance to shine

We are now looking for our next superstar! You will be a passionate individual with previous experience as a mentor and in community and employment services. Although not essential, a tertiary qualification in a related discipline (trades, textiles, cooking, IT, personal finance etc.) and previous experience working in a remote setting are highly desirable.

To succeed in this role, you will be a strong communicator with well-developed interpersonal skills and effectively engage and work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders. It is paramount that you are an empathetic individual with a strong understanding of cultural barriers faced by CDP participants and a passion for helping rural community members achieve positive outcomes.

Moreover, you will be experienced in planning and implementing workplace activities with goals in mind and have the skills to supervise a team and work autonomously, effectively and efficiently.

Please Note: A current Manual Driver's Licence, a Working with Children's Card and a criminal history check will be required before commencing this role. You will also be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

This role comes with a competitive salary circa $66,563 – $71,263 PLUS 10% super, salary sacrificing options and a Remote Area Allowance of $2,500 per annum.
