Your chance to conduct secretarial duties in a beautiful corner of the world is right now! As a Council Operations Assistant Manager you will be primarily responsible for providing a high level of administrative and secretarial support to the Council Operations Manager in the community. You will also enjoy taking on the responsibility of acting as second in command whenever the Council Operations Manager is away on leave!

Working out of Timber Creek, NT on a full-time basis you will have several key duties including:

  • Assisting: Assist in obtaining quotations, raising purchase orders, monitoring budget expenditure and credit card expenditure
  • Maintaining: Maintain records, ensure deadlines are met and ensure WH&S regulations are adhered to
  • Coordinating: Coordinate job vacancies, advertising, human resource functions and related paperwork

What you need to bring to the table

To be successful as Timber Creek's new Council Operations Assistant Manager you will have demonstrated secretarial or administrative skills at an executive level. You may also have a qualification in a discipline related to the role.

You will be a strong communicator, with well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with staff, community members, and other relevant stakeholders effectively. It is essential in this role that you are computer literate with fast-typing skills and a grasp on relevant software, lending you the ability to minute take in meetings and use programs such as Xero, Office 365 and Happy HR. 

Experience working in a remote setting is desired, enabling you to work effectively within indigenous communities and understand the unique challenges of remote Australia. 

Most importantly, you will be a respectful individual and a team player who pays a high attention to detail and is capable of being adaptable and working under pressure as well as completing tasks within required time frames. 

Please Note: before commencement in this role, it is a requirement that you hold a First Aid Certificate, an open Driver's Licence (preferably manual) and have completed a Criminal History Check. You are also required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
