About the Opportunities

Victoria Daly Regional Council is now looking for a full-time CDP Employment Coordinator and a CDP Activity Supervisor (Female Identified) to join their team in Kalkarindji, NT. Both roles are contracted until 30 June 2022, with possibility of extension pending funding.

As CDP Employment Coordinator, you will deliver the CDP contract in the community, support jobseekers to identify goals that lead to positive personal and professional development, and encourage community participation.

More specifically, some of your duties will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Manage the delivery of job seeker case management services in community in compliance with the Community Development Program contract;
  • Organise and support training activities including partnering with internal and external stakeholders; and
  • Place job seekers in appropriate activities and work placements.

As CDP Activity Supervisor (Female Identified), you will develop and lead job seeker activities, and support training activities for job seekers ensuring quality outcomes within the community for all stakeholders.

More specifically, some of your duties will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Engage with the local community to deliver job seeker services that are culturally, socially and environmentally appropriate;
  • Build trusting relationships with colleagues and job seekers; and
  • Support and motivate job seekers to attend identified activities, trainings and appointments.

Please note: The CDP Activity Supervisor role is female identified. An applicant's gender is a genuine occupational requirement of this position, authorised by s35 of the NT Anti-Discrimination Act and Division 4 (s30, ss1 & ss2a,c,g,e,& h) of the Sex Discrimination Act 1984.

About You

To be successful in the CDP Employment Coordinator role you will have experience in employment services and community development projects. No tertiary qualification is required as long as experience can be demonstrated.

To be successful in the CDP Activity Supervisor (Female Identified) role you will have experience in conducting training in an engaging, creative way. No tertiary qualification is required as long as experience can be demonstrated.

Experience working in a remote setting is desired, enabling you to work effectively within indigenous communities, however is not a requirement.

An excellent communicator, you will have well developed interpersonal skills including the ability to build effective working relationships across all levels of stakeholders.

Please Note: A current Manual Driver's Licence, Working with Children clearance and a criminal history check will be required prior to commencing in this role.
